Barry Purves' interview, made during the international animation film festival 2008
In 2008 Barry Purves celebrated having worked with puppets and animation for thirty years. His award winning personal films include Next, Screen Play, Rigoletto, Achilles and Gilbert and Sullivan, The Very Models and also Hamilton Mattress. He has been involved with features such as Mars Attacks! and King Kong as well as long television series such as The Wind in the Willows and Rupert Bear.
Barry has taught around the world, and his first book Stop Motion: Passion, Process and Performance was published last year, and the DVD collection of his films, Barry Purves, his Intimate Lives is released by Potemkine this June. Barry Purves also directs and designs for the stage as much as possible.
